Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Christian leaders from the Middle East while on an upcoming state visit to the Central European nation of Hungary to meet with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declared this week in front of reporters that Putin “will have a very interesting meeting organized by Prime Minister Orban – a meeting with the leaders of Middle Eastern Christian churches. In general, Russia is doing a lot to protect Christian churches in the Middle East, it has done a lot in Syria, which is why the meeting will be interesting,” reported Russian state news agency TASS.
“President Putin is now leaving for Budapest for a working visit. He is set to hold talks with his colleague [Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor] Orban. Then, the Russian-Hungarian talks will take place, and a number of joint agreements will be signed. Putin and Orban will hold a press conference on the outcomes of the talks,” Peskov informed.
The Islamic State destroyed vast levels of Christian heritage in Iraq and Syria during its violent reign. The Christian population of the Middle East has declined precipitously as a result.

To say that the Christian population in Syria has “declined precipitously” is a euphemism.
Christians have either fled, or been slaughtered.
That’s the truth about why the population has “declined.”
Trying to topple Assad resulted in the slaughter of countless Christians, and the destruction of the world’s oldest Christian heritage.
Thanks Bush, thanks Obama.
