A cryptocurrency mining farm in the Russian city of Artyom started a massive fire in an apartment tower on February 6th and destroyed the homes of scores of residents. Miraculously no one was killed, although several were taken to the hospital with injuries.

Witnesses report seeing a man fleeing the building carrying computer servers once the fire was discovered. Firemen and police found computing equipment in the apartment similar to what is used to mine cryptocurrency. Russia is a favorite domicile for miners due to the low cost of electricity.
