Putin Fires More Government Officials

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed on Wednesday, March 29, a decree that removed from his post the head of the Main Directorate for Road Safety of the Russian Interior Ministry, Viktor Nilov.
 

“Release from the post … Lieutenant-General Nilov Viktor Ivanovich,” the decree said. Nilov led the traffic police since 2011. Who will take the vacated position is still unknown.

 

By the same decree, the Russian president dismissed the empowered RF at the European Court of Human Rights, Deputy Minister of Justice Georgi Matyushkin.

 

In total, the president dismissed seven people, including three generals, by one decree, and appointed 12 people for various positions in the law enforcement agencies of the country.
