U.S. President Donald Trump wants Russia back in the exclusive G8 club. POTUS made the remarks to reporters in Washington yesterday. The G7 starts in four days in France.
“I could certainly” support that he told reporters at the White House. “It’s much more appropriate to have Russia in. It should be the G8, because a lot of the things we talk about have to do with Russia,” reported RFERL.
Trump said “if somebody would make that motion, I would certainly be disposed to think about it very favorably,” regarding the inclusion Russia in the group.
Trump declared former President Obama wanted Russia out of the group because he was ‘outsmarted’ by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He also noted that his predecessor Barack Obama “had wanted Russia out of what used to be the G8,” reported Russian state news agency TASS.

I agree with President Trump. Having Russia in the G8 can only be a good thing. Russia is a large country with a large population and whether you agree or not, is still a major force in the world, a force to contend with. Russia and the US have much in common, both leaders are strong men who only want what’s best for their two countries. A partnership or treaty is preferential to being at odds with one another. Economically and militarily they could create a good fit.
