Thousands turned out in Sofia on Thursday to support the country’s leading opposition party, Vazrazhdane’s call for the resignation of Bulgaria’s globalist government. The protest began in front of the Parliament building and moved to the Ministry of Defense a few blocks away to specifically call for Defense Minister Todor Tagarev to resign.

The protesters demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov’s Government resignation that they accuse of acting against the interests of the Bulgarian people in support of foreign interests. They also demanded an immediate end to military aid to Ukraine, a position shared by the overwhelming majority of the Bulgarian people.

Protester carried banners reading “American bases out! Bulgaria is a zone of peace,” in protest of plans by the globalist government to open additional U.S. military bases in the country.

Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov told protesters that the government of Bulgaria has been “captured by people who serve the interests of foreign states…. The last instruction that came from the masters of Bulgaria, from the U.S., is for Bulgaria to establish a new military base.”

“Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria promised before the elections to change GERB’s model of governance and not participate in a coalition with them and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms,” Deyan Nikolov Vazrazhdane MP and candidate for mayor of Sofia said, referring to the coalition government formed at the insistence of the U.S. Embassy in Sofia.

“The people will show what they think of all that in the [October 29] local elections,” Nikolov added.

Kostadinov later posted to his Telegram channel, “Thank you to the thousands of free Bulgarians who came to the Vazrazhdane protest today! Together we are writing the new history of Bulgaria! We will lead the fight to complete victory!”
