An alliance between globalist forces Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) and GERB-UDF to form a new government in Bulgaria has provoked outrage among opposition parties. The situation became volatile after secret recordings emerged proving that CC-DB was taking instructions from Western embassies in Sofia about the formation of a new government. With tensions running high, a scuffle broke out between the globalists and patriotic forces during Thursday’s parliamentary session.

During a speech by Iskra Mihaylova, a member of the patriotic movement Vazrazhdane, globalist MPs started a physical altercation with members of the nationalist party. The attack began when Mihaylova told members of parliament, “Representatives of the embassy and embassies, you have no moral right to be here today in this hall, you never had it, but it has been clear to every Bulgarian citizen for several days.”

Referring to the release of secret recordings released earlier in the week, the Vazrazhdane MP called the globalists, “traitors not only to their own words and voters, but far worse – traitors to Bulgaria.”

Continue the Change MP Yavor Bozhankov provoked the attack by making derogatory personal insults to Vazrazhdane leadership, including the use of homophobic slurs. The globalists began pushing and shoving the patriotic opposition and a scuffle ensued in which one Vazrazhdane MP’s glasses fell on the ground and were broken, and another MP emerged with a bruise on his cheek. Parliament went into recess following the incident.

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev also weighed in on the possible formation of a new government by the two largest globalist parties who up until recently had hated each other. “I do not expect the kiss between Borissov and Petkov would give birth to anything except disgust and that does not lead to trust and sustainable solutions,” the President told reporters before leaving for the summit of the European Political Community (EPC) in Moldova.

The President also accused Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria of having a “sweet Euro-Atlantic façade” but in reality having the “grinning face of a creeping dictatorship and fanaticism.”

At a press conference following the incident in parliament, Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov called the globalist Continue the Change “a party of betrayal, of the embassy….” He added, “These people disgraced the National Assembly, they should be in jail for national treason.”

“Every time from now on, when someone tries to disgrace the institution of the National Assembly, to shame Bulgaria and to dirty the name of the Bulgarian Parliament, we will react firmly and uncompromisingly, we will never allow these people to come to the parliamentary rostrum again. Let them come out – we, too, will come out promptly,” Kostadinov continued. “These people have delegitimized themselves and this behavior must be stopped. New elections are the best option for Bulgaria’s future.”

Kostadinov later added on Facebook, “This is not a Bulgarian government, it is set up in the US Embassy!! These formations cannot be tolerated, this administration will destroy the remnants of the Bulgarian statehood.”
