Alicia Kearns, chair of the Foreign Policy Committee of the British Parliament, told reporters on Monday that Great Britain opposes the establishment of a Community of Serbian Municipalities in Kosovo, as called for under the Franco-German plan to resolve the conflict.

Kearns said Britain would not support the creation of any entity resembling Republika Srpska – referring to the autonomous Serbian Republic within Bosnia-Herzegovina. “The ambiguity of the language in the [Franco-German] plan is problematic. There is talk of self-government. What does it mean? Does this mean water, electricity, and gas branches, or does self-government mean separate governing structures? We should not allow Republika Srpska in Kosovo,” Kearns told reporters.

Republika Srpska, which has allowed Bosnian Serbs self-rule within the framework of Bosnia-Herzegovina has long been a thorn in the side of Western diplomacy, which seeks to create a series of small multi-ethnic states under Western influence.

Western diplomats continue to believe that they can create functional multi-ethnic states that do not disenfranchise minority populations in the region. “We are aware that this [the creation of a Community of Serbian Municipalities] leads to the consolidation of ethnonationalism and does not lead to unity,” she insisted.

The chairwoman contends that Britain is committed to stability in the Balkans, adding, “There are good aspects of the French-German-American plan, but the formation of a Serbian enclave is something that we, Great Britain, were very clear, do not support.”

The denial of all the multi-ethnic enclaves that politicians have encouraged in Britain take some audacity to surpass.
The continued British protestant enclave in N.Ireland is a sore that only decades of demographic change is likely heal.
What will that demographic comprise of from the 26 counties of Ireland: Nigerians, Algerians or Indo-Pakistanis?
