EU Threatens Poland With Sanctions Over Rule Of Law

The European Union is threatening sanctions against the Eastern European nation of Poland over the proposed judicial reform which the EU says would put the judiciary under the control of the executive branch.

Although President Andrzej Duda vetoed the legislation, the European Commission is still concerned the rule of law is under assault in Poland and is threatening sanctions. Brussels gave Poland a month to respond to their accusations.

The EU has threatened Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic as well over their refusal to follow EU orders to admit hundreds of thousands of ‘migrants’ which are overwhelmingly Islamic and could wipe out the culture of the host nation.

The law in question could force all of the judges on Poland‘s Supreme Court to resign and be replaced by those selected by the legislative branch, as in the United States, and the Justice Minister.
