The Russian newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda is reporting this morning that both Russian land based and sea based anti aircraft forces in the Crimea are now operating in an “enhanced regime”. This report comes on the heels of the closing by the Ukraine yesterday of several large areas of airspace over the Black Sea off the Crimean Peninsula.
For anti aircraft force, enhanced regime often means enhanced readiness, i.e. the ability to fire within a significantly reduced period of time from the time a threat is identified.
